Presentation: Brewster Beach Profiling Community Science Pilot Project Patricia Teixeira Santoianni 00:00:30

This presentation will describe the pilot study of a community science program and discuss the feasibility of establishing an ongoing beach profiling project for the Town of Brewster that engages the town and the local community in documenting the impacts of climate change and erosion on the Brewster/Cape Cod Bay coastline. Using simple survey tools and photography, community scientists can collect actionable data for studying annual erosion and accretion cycles on the Town of Brewster beaches. These data can assist in coastal resource management decision-making and climate action planning to protect and preserve Brewster’s beautiful coastal resources.
